No Kings

I never thought it would come to this. Every snot-nosed kid from Day 1 pledges allegiance to the flag, sings the national anthem, and applauds when our leader sheds a little love on us.

Never have we hated any of these activities as long as that leader’s heart was speaking instead of his wallet. The presidency is supposed to represent the largest love our country has to offer. Now, it’s all hate.

Hate of a color; hate of anyone whose origin story strays from the idealized source material. All the old hatemongers and their offspring have made the ultimate push, and we can no longer cower in corners like frightened kittens begging for pets and snuggles from the cruel master.

Kittens have claws too.

Be safe out there today, America. Be peaceful, make your voices heard, but remember: we did this to ourselves. We allowed this to happen.

To my fellow Democrats: we need to accept shame and blame for poking the bear and running away, giggling, for forty years like annoying kids at the adult table on Thanksgiving. We are out of our comfort zone big time; uncharted territory.

We never took them seriously because of the delusional checks and balances. Our modern elected officials went to Washington to play dress up on social media, not to do the work of the people. Prove me wrong AOC, Jasmine Crockett, and all the other fan favorites who appear to be living for one-liners and “likes”.

I always wondered what would happen if we elected some twat waffle who would tell the courts, “No, I think I’ll do what I want “

Now I know.

Fill your health and mana. The music changed. The final boss looms before us. Don’t fucking flinch.
