Autism Detection In 1983

If you could beat this game when it was in the arcades, you were special.

There were no move guides and there were NO CONTINUES. Fifty cents, five lives, good luck.

The kids who tried to convince you that this game was the devil all still make fun of you on Facebook from the safety and comfort of their Klan Klubhouse, don’t they?

Ah; Texas.

Anyway, this version is strange. I’ve played them all since the early DOS and Commodore 64 days. I even owned the legendary NES version. See this video for frustration validation:

Major language and nerd humor warning.

The timing in the version I’m playing below is UNFORGIVING. It’s not arcade accurate, because it has an option for a move guide and it allows continues. Also, the sound is a tad off, which makes the timing off as well. Sadly, this is the current STEAM version.

Trust me. I have an entire corner of my home dedicated to this game; cabinet and all. I know a thing or two. If you’d like to know a thing or two as well, this is/was the best source since the late nineties.

Anyway, I die. A lot. I run through it twice, though. The deaths make it comical, at least.

There are videos somewhere of me beating this game BLINDFOLDED. You can imagine my frustration with this version. If you’re looking for the most arcade accurate version currently on the market, get this:

It’s a mini cab, only about a foot tall. They’re sold out but may make more in the future. It has an HDMI and USB connection so it could be stuffed inside a home arcade cabinet or played on your television. There are some used ones floating around out there.

Also, there’s a few other things not listed here that are floating around out there. Best of luck with the hunt.
