During my most impressionable years, I was surrounded by people who HATED leaving the comforts and familiarities of the East Texas Boonies to do anything at all in Dallas. As an adult, I now know I was deprived of necessary outlets to successfully evolve into an empathetic, functioning adult in modern society. The next twenty years were filled with culture shocks as I ventured into Dallas, to New York, to Los Angeles, and all points in between.
Music venues, theaters, museums, restaurants, sporting events…
If you were one of those kids who were denied these things in the big, scary city (because your parents and grandparents, for whatever reason, believed Dallas to be the physical representation of HELL on the horizon), I’m going to hold your hand through the uncertainties, and squash your inbred misconceptions regarding public transit.
All you have to do is drive to Rowlett, Texas.
It’s just a couple of miles from the Bass Pro Shop; no excuses.
