Midnight Emails – Porch Swing Poetry

Coffee
Bowl
Truth
& soul
The morning bears talons
To scratch the hole
Of yesterday's shadows
Of yesterday's hate
Of yesterday's almost
A moment too late.

Stop
Stare
Burn
& flare
The consequence version
Of Truth or Dare
The sorrow; the fighting
The clawing & biting
The this and the that-ing
The morning and night-ing.

Wave
Drown
Torch
It down
Same as was hired
To play the clown
It's only a person
It's only faux flesh
It's only a heartbeat
Another morn' - sesh'.
